Live-In Home Care
An aide lives in the home to provide both personal care and homemaking services.
- Help client stay in touch with family, friends and the community
- Plan and cook appealing and nutritious meals and snacks that encourage the client to eat a healthy diet. Remind client to drink water on a regular basis.
- Provide assisted living help with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and eating
- Help client with safe exercise routine, walking and moving to and from beds, chairs and toilet
- Remind client to take pills at the right time
- Perform light cleaning including dusting, light vacuuming and bathroom cleaning
- Wash client’s laundry and change towels and bed linens to ensure that the client is clean and dry at all times
- Provide care and feeding of pets
- Assist with making phone calls and appointments, picking up and sorting mail and filling out forms
- Join client in reading, games, and other enjoyable activities
- Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment that eliminates possible accidents
- Run errands including banking, going to the post office and dry cleaners (an extra fee may apply)
- Go with client to medical appointments, clarify physician instructions and report to family members. Make sure all follow-up tests or appointments are scheduled and completed.
- Go with client to out-of-home social activities and events
- Monitor client's status and report changes to supervisor, keep the supervisor informed of the care being provided and any questions or issues that arise in discussion with family members.
- Communicate with responsible family members about the client's preferences, former habits, interests, condition, level of function and any questions about the client or household situation.
